About the Artist

Meet Kristy Baker

First, thank you for visiting my page and showing an interest in my work. I’m a self-taught artist who began my art journey while attending nursing school in 2002. I turned to painting for two reasons: I needed a creative outlet during the stress of school, and I wanted to fill my empty walls on a budget!

Born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, my work is deeply inspired by everyday Southern life. I’m drawn to the beauty and character found in ordinary landscapes, architecture, wildlife, and whatever else catches my eye along the way.

Working primarily in oil and acrylic, I strive to capture the spirit and beauty found in the world around me. While continuing to work full-time as a nurse, I find that art provides me with a sense of calm, reflection, and creative renewal.

My husband, Noah, and our three daughters, Brooklynn, Bailey, and Addie, are at the heart of my artistic journey. They are the reason I began selling my art professionally and continue to motivate and inspire me to pursue success every day. Their love and encouragement remind me to keep creating and sharing my work with others.

My artwork is available for purchase through my website, as well as at The Foyer in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Birdwell’s in Bossier City, Louisiana.
